🏡 Village — find families like yours
The Village tab helps you discover parents, guardians, and carers in similar circumstances — near you or further afield if you choose. You stay in control: matching uses only what you choose to share, not hidden behavioural profiling.
Benefits of finding people with similar needs:
- Talk to someone who understands day-to-day SEN parenting without lengthy explanations.
- Filter by general location (e.g. 5, 10, 25, or 50 miles, or nationwide) so matches feel relevant.
- Align on SEN type and aids you are comfortable sharing — so conversations start from shared ground.
- Build confidence before you message — see profiles in a simple, swipe-based discovery flow.
- Pause discovery any time from privacy settings when you need a break.
- Keep child and health details private until you decide what to share with a matched family.
Messaging and connecting stay free. Credits are not required to match, chat, or maintain connections with families you have found through Village.
💬 Connect — chat with your village
Once you have matched, Connect brings messaging into one place so you can stay in touch with families who understand your journey.
- Private conversations with people you have chosen to connect with.
- Notifications when new villagers or unread messages are waiting for you.
- Report and block tools if something does not feel right.
- No credit cost for core messaging — peer support remains accessible.
📋 Noticeboard — reach the wider community
The Noticeboard is for posts that matter beyond one-to-one chat: local tips, recommendations, events, or asking the community a question. Because posts can reach many families, each notice costs 1 credit to publish (keeping the board purposeful and reducing spam).
What the Noticeboard helps you do:
- Share time-sensitive local information with carers in your area or chosen communities.
- Ask for recommendations other parents have already road-tested (schools, groups, services, activities).
- Highlight inclusive events, support sessions, or meet-ups that welcome SEN families.
- Offer or seek practical help within boundaries you set in your post.
- Reach a broader audience than your direct matches when you need community input.
- Save notices you want to revisit later with in-app bookmarks.

10 credits — £4.99
Example package available today. Additional credit bundles will be offered in-app when the app is fully live.
1 credit = 1 notice
Each published notice uses one credit. Some wider broadcasts may use additional credits (shown clearly before you post).
New members may receive welcome credits during early access. You can buy more credits in Settings when you need them.
✨ Credits, ads & supporting the app
SEN Village is mission-led. Advertising helps keep core matching and messaging free for as many families as possible. If you prefer fewer interruptions, you can use credits instead of cash for an ad-free experience.
Remove ads for 30 days
5 credits
Hide ads across key screens (including Village, Connect, and the Noticeboard) for 30 days. You can extend ad-free time with another 5 credits when the period ends.
Where credits and optional purchases go: safer community moderation, reliable hosting, app development, improved matching, and charity or partner programmes that expand local support for SEN families. We are transparent about ads and never sell private child or health-identifying details.

The Support tab sits alongside peer connections so practical help is never far away. Resources are organised around SEN types relevant to your family, with charities and organisations you can save, share, and return to.

- Filter to see Supporter (partner) organisations we work with and promote in the app.
- Discover trusted pathways to advice, advocacy, and community support — alongside conversations with other parents.
Charities & organisations — work with us
Charities and support organisations can collaborate with SEN Village in two ways:
- Listed resources — appear in Support when relevant to families on the platform.
- Supporter partners — verified organisations we actively promote as partners, highlighted for families who need trusted signposting.

- Report or block users when something feels unsafe or inappropriate.
- Adults 18+ only — for parents, guardians, and carers.
- Privacy controls for profile and child-related fields (who can see what).
- Content may be reviewed where reasonably necessary for safeguarding or enforcement.
- Peer support only — not medical, legal, or emergency advice.

Manage your profile, discovery preferences, privacy visibility, credits, ad-free status, biometric login (stored on your device only), and account deletion from Settings.
