About Us

Building SEN Village with lived experience and long-term purpose.

Meet the people behind SEN Village and why we built a community for families who need their own village.

Why we set up SEN Village

SEN Village was created to make it easier for parents, guardians, and carers to find people who truly understand SEN family life. We are building a closed, verified community that is practical, kind, and safe by design. It is not a public marketplace.

Our focus is to keep membership and core support accessible while staying transparent about how the app is funded and improved. Registration is required before any part of the app is shown, including notices, because all content relates to children and families. See our roadmap for where that investment is heading.

We have lived experience either our own children who have SEN, or we have supported family or friends with children with SEN in our own worlds. We can see how hard it is to find support and connect with other families who truly understand, especially when those in your own village don't or can't compare what you are going through. Our mission is to make it easier to find support and connect with other families who truly understand.

About me

I'm from Bristol and live with my five-year-old daughter and our cat. We share a love of cake, ponies and being at our local park.

My daughter was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in 2025 and since then our lives have changed completely. She has a great medical team around her, but there was a lack of people who just "get it". After seeing first-hand how difficult it is for parents and carers of children with SEN to find meaningful relationships with our peers, SEN Village was born!

This app will bring people together to share experiences, resources and support for others in the same boat. I'm passionate about families finding their special village.

About me

I'm based in rural Herefordshire, where I live with my three cats named after cartoon characters!

While I'm not a parent myself, my life is deeply intertwined with close friends and family members who are raising incredible children with a wide range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, mutism, and chromosome disorders.

Watching the people I care about most navigate the beautiful, exhausting, and often isolating realities of this journey has profoundly impacted me. I've seen firsthand how hard they have to fight, and not just for resources, but simply to find a community of peers who are going through the same thing. Too many times, I found myself wishing I could do more to help. Building SEN Village is my personal answer to that. I am incredibly proud to channel my tech background into bridging this massive gap, helping to create a safe, welcoming space where families can find the genuine connection and support they deserve.
