Accessibility Statement
This statement covers the SEN Village website and the SEN Village mobile app for Android and iOS.
Our commitment
SEN Village is committed to making our website and app accessible and inclusive for parents, guardians, and carers with diverse access needs. We aim to align with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and continually improve usability as we grow.
Conformance status
We currently describe our accessibility conformance as partial conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA. Some parts of the website and mobile app already meet many WCAG success criteria, but we have not yet completed a full independent accessibility audit for every user journey and component.
How we support accessibility now
- Semantic headings and page structure to support screen readers and navigation.
- Keyboard focus visibility and skip links on website pages.
- Clear labels and helper text on forms, including beta request, roadmap idea, and cookie preference flows.
- Text alternatives for key app screenshots and meaningful image content on the website.
- High-contrast text and controls designed for readability across modern devices.
- Reduced-motion support where practical, including core page transitions.
How we test accessibility
We review accessibility using a mix of automated checks and manual testing. This includes:
- Keyboard-only navigation checks across core pages and controls.
- Screen reader checks using platform tools such as VoiceOver and TalkBack.
- Colour contrast and focus visibility checks for text and interactive components.
- Form label, error messaging, and guidance checks in user input flows.
- Reduced-motion and responsive layout checks across mobile and desktop viewports.
- Periodic review of third-party elements that may affect accessibility.
WCAG 2.2 AA review checklist
Our ongoing accessibility review is structured around these areas:
- Perceivable: text alternatives, adaptable structure, contrast, and readable content.
- Operable: keyboard access, visible focus, enough time, and non-flashing interactions.
- Understandable: predictable navigation, clear labels, and understandable errors.
- Robust: semantic markup and compatibility with assistive technologies.
- Mobile and touch: target size, touch gestures, orientation, and zoom support.
- App-specific: native control labels, dynamic type behaviour, and assistive technology announcements.
Known limitations
We are actively improving accessibility in both the website and app. Some controls, dynamic content, or third-party integrations may not yet be fully accessible in every scenario. We treat this as an ongoing priority and review updates as part of normal release work.
Feedback and support
If you experience any accessibility barriers, please tell us what page or feature you were using and what assistive technology you rely on. We will do our best to provide an alternative and improve the experience quickly.

How we maintain this statement
This statement is reviewed when significant changes are made to the website or app, and updated as accessibility improvements are delivered. We also update this page after major accessibility testing rounds so users can see progress transparently.
